Monday Hike
A few pictures from today's hike. Can you believe temperature is in the 50s mid-February? I am happy, but at the same time a bit concerned.

Hi!
My aunt has a 5 year old cream Shiba named Goku. He is awesome and he made me love the breed. Anyway, I started following a bunch of Shiba blogs and I love seeing all the adventures Mac goes on. I live in Long Island (NY) and I take my dog Chuy (9 month old Westie) hiking, to the beach, woods, etc. every weekend. I’m wondering what you use for Mac in regards to ticks. I raise my dogs a bit more naturally than most–raw fed, minimal vaccinations, no heartworm/flea/tick medication–so I like to avoid the harsh chemicals. I’ve been using an all natural repellant spray but I still find ticks on Chuy occasionally.

Hi Kelly! Goku is such an awesome name, and it’s great to hear you are super active with your dog as well! Can your Westie keep up with you with no problem, and do you need to bath him often? I remember they are usually white and long hair right? =)
During tick season, I use Frontline Plus on Mac; while he is a bit over 25 lbs I use the dose for dog weighing 25 lbs and under, thinking it’s a bit less chemical. I also don’t like the idea of using chemical on him, but after last year’s tick season and the Lyme scare, I opted to go with Frontline. No issue so far!
